The estimated time for a standard project is 6 months.

Whether you have a detailed architectural drawing, a hand-drawn sketch, or simply a vision of the backyard that you would like to achieve, we look forward to discussing your project and we will reply as soon as we can.
What Can You Expect During This Visit? You can expect photos of similar projects to help us determine your preferences. You can expect us to ask numerous questions about your expectations and ideas. You can expect a conversation where we will discuss your budget for your project.

step two
Site Visit & Quote
Our team will come to you. An on-site visit allows us to survey the area where the desired project will take place and gather as much information at that moment.
This is the perfect opportunity to discuss your ideas face-to-face. During these visits, we bring our extensive back catalog of previous projects to demonstrate the high-quality work we produce and also to offer inspiration, and so that you can frame your desired design.
Alternatively, if you would much rather prefer, we can also discuss your project at our office.
When an “exact quote” is given, we mean exact. This is not an estimate, so you can be assured that there will be no surprise added costs during the course of your project. If changes or additions are needed to be made during the construction process, they will be addressed and discussed before any of those changes occur. If there are additional details you would be interested in seeing during the process, your project developer may give an estimate that addresses those options prior to signing the contract.

SIGN THE CONTRACT
A contract is essential as it lays down all the expectations that will be carried out by our team and what is expected from our customers.
Once you have read the contract you will sign it and only then will the construction of the project begin.

DESIGN YOUR PROJECT

Whether you have a fixed design in mind, a vision you would like enhanced, or a blank piece of paper, our team of designers are experts at bringing your vision and needs to life.
Each project is unique, even with the most common structure, and it can be difficult for our customers to visualize how their outdoor living area will look when finished.
To help visualization, we produce 3D visuals providing a birds-eye-view of the new backyard structure–these are vital if you are ever in any doubt about the design. These 3D renditions allow informed revisions to be made at an early stage.
We are always readily available, so do not hesitate to take advantage of our extensive industry knowledge and specialist experience.
As a company that’s been in business since the 90s, we pride ourselves on estimating an accurate amount of material that will be needed. The amount of material that is needed is always unique to the space that we are given to work with however we ensure that we do not overuse materials. This allows for a cohesive balance throughout the structure, resulting in the best design and most important of all, customer satisfaction.
For most of our projects, we prefer the use of timber, however, depending on circumstances the use of structural steel may be necessary. However, we do not let this detail disrupt the style of the structure.

PERMIT PROCESS
2-4 months full service offered
Some properties require a permit or HOA approval for outdoor living projects. The only thing needed by the project developer in order to obtain approval is a copy of your lot survey. Any additional required information will be provided by us.
If you live in a municipality that requires a building permit, every submission, inspection, and approval required will also be handled by B. Gordon Builders. Depending on the location, the process can take anywhere between four and six weeks.

step six
SCHEDULING
The scheduling of your project depends on several factors–the number of projects our team is currently working on, the weather, or if you have a particular deadline by which you want the project done.
Materials are always ordered in a timely fashion so they will be readily available when we begin the construction on your backyard project. Although some materials are readily available, others will require a special order to be put in place. The moment the contract is signed we will do our best to get you to make selections on stone and other materials as quickly as possible so that we can avoid any time constraints in attaining the material.
As for the crew working on your project, they may vary. It might occur that throughout your project you will see more than one crew working on your project, this happens because as a company we work on several projects at a time. Although we do our best to keep one crew working on your project, it cannot always be done, but you can guarantee that it will not affect your project negatively.

step seven
PROJECT COMPLETION
Your project will be supervised by a team that consists of a project developer and a dedicated project manager. As a team, they will guarantee that your dream outdoor living space will be designed as imagined. Constant communication throughout the duration of the project is to be expected, and your team will be available via email and phone during and after the construction.
Upon the completion of your project, your team will walk through the outdoor living space with you to verify that you are completely satisfied. At B. Gordon Builders, we take pride in our work and strive to have our customers completely satisfied with their new backyard space.
The last stage of the project is the internal finish. This consists of electrics, insulation, plastering, heating, finished floor cover, and decorating.

PROJECT APPROVAL & HANDOVER
Once you have approved the finished product you can now enjoy your new outdoor living structure curated specifically for you by B. Gordon Builders.
